Can I use Petunia now?

Yes, on Android. Petunia is free on Google Play. On iPhone, leave your email, and we’ll email you when it’s ready.

What can I do with Petunia?

Keep a record of each plant: where it lives, when you watered, fed or pruned it, and notes and photos as it grows. Not sure what a plant is? Take a few photos, and Petunia suggests a match. Then ask Petunia about one plant or a whole space, and add a photo if it helps. The answer starts from the plant’s record.

Why use Petunia instead of ChatGPT or a plant-ID app?

Petunia keeps a care record for each plant: where it lives, when you watered or fed it, and your notes and photos. She also remembers what you tell her in chat. Ask about that plant, and the answer starts from its record, without you explaining it all again. Add your address, and Petunia uses this week’s weather where you live too.

Do I need a garden?

No. One plant on a windowsill is enough. You can add outdoor spaces too, each with its own light, soil and water.

Does it cost anything?

No. Petunia is free, and you don’t need a card to sign up.

Does Petunia use AI?

Yes. An AI model writes Petunia’s answers from your plant’s record, general plant knowledge and, once you add your address, this week’s weather where you live. Your questions and plant photos go to the AI services our privacy policy lists.

Who can see my plants, and can I delete them?

Only you, and the services that run Petunia, which our privacy policy lists. To export your data or delete your account, open Settings in the app, or use the Your data page on this site.

Who makes Petunia?

Petunia is made by Supertrained Inc., a small US company. Write to us at hello@petuniaapp.com.

How do I get Petunia on Android?

Get it free on Google Play: search for Petunia, or use the Google Play button on the home page.

Is there an iPhone app?

Petunia is coming to iPhone. Leave your email on the home page, and we’ll email you when you can download it.

How do I add a plant and set up a space?

Search for the plant by name, or take a few photos and confirm Petunia’s best match. Then choose where it lives: a windowsill, a room, a balcony or a bed. Say whether it’s inside or out, and add its light and other details, so Petunia can fit her answers to it. You can fill in anything you skip later.

What does Ask Petunia know about my plant?

When you ask about a plant or a space, Petunia reads that plant’s notes, its recent care log and where it lives, plus general plant knowledge. Add your address, and she uses this week’s weather there too. She also remembers what you tell her in chat.

How do I export my data, clear Petunia’s memory or delete my account?

In the app, open Settings. Export my data downloads what you’ve added. Clear Petunia’s memory makes her forget what she learned in chats; your notes and care log stay. Delete my account deletes it after 30 days, and you can restore it until then. Without the app, use the Your data page: choose Deletion and give the email on your Petunia account, and we’ll confirm by email. To leave only the Android or iPhone email list, use the same form, choose Deletion and say which list.

Is a plant safe for my child or pet? What if someone ate one?

Never rely on Petunia to say whether a plant is safe to eat or touch. If a person may have eaten a plant, call Poison Control on 1-800-222-1222 in the US, or emergency services. For a pet, call your vet. For fertiliser or pesticide, follow the label. More on the Support page.
